As a consequence of the dreadful weather this summer, haylage and hay availability and quality around the country will be compromised. Good quality hay will be extremely hard to find and as a result those people will be looking elsewhere for their forage supply, and use haylage. Haylage stocks are therefore likely to be under pressure firstly from lower quality and stock generally, and secondly from increased demand.
We advise you to secure your haylage supply for the season early, to avoid disappointment and to ensure you have a consistent supply of good quality haylage throughout the winter.
